Inspicio: guarantee the safety of infrastructures
Geckosoft, in collaboration with the faculties of Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Pisa, is part of a development team dedicated to the digital census and risk assessment of bridges throughout the country. We are honored and proud to be able to do our part in the development of an extremely innovative bridge monitoring software, in a project that is fundamental for the security of Italian infrastructures.

The request falls within the activities of the Fabre Consortium, an alliance of universities, research entities, as well as public and private organizations in the civil engineering and architecture fields.
Prominent among the activities promoted by the consortium is the monitoring and evaluation of static, foundational, seismic, and hydrogeological risks of bridges and viaducts. This is followed by the development of techniques for safety restoration and ongoing maintenance of monitored structures.

The software we designed can gather information about the status of each infrastructure examined, which until then had been extremely fragmented and only available on paper.
The software, available as an app for engineers and inspectors, runs on an algorithm capable of connecting data and making calculations to return a score for each bridge and give an explanation for those scores.
Therefore, this app – fully capable of performing even in extreme conditions and without an Internet connection – has the advantage of both ranking infrastructures according to their risk and explaining where to take action to restore the safety of the bridge concerned.
